What “same-day” actually covers
Same-day fitting applies to one specific specification: a standard white aluminium frame with clear glass. That specification is kept ready to build because it suits the majority of villa and apartment sliding doors, so there is no coating, tinting or special-order stage between your booking and the fitting.
Two things take longer, and it is better to know before you book:
- Custom powder-coating. If your sliding frames are bronze, charcoal, black or another colour and you want the insert powder-coated in a matching RAL colour, that coating takes 2–3 days. The insert itself is the same — only the finish adds the time.
- Anything outside the standard specification, such as a non-standard flap arrangement, is confirmed on WhatsApp before we commit to a date.
If the standard white frame and clear glass work for your door, the 10 AM booking is the only deadline that matters.
What the insert is, and why it fits in a day
A sliding door pet insert is a made-to-measure panel that slots into the existing track of your sliding door, alongside the door panel itself. The pet flap is built into the insert, your sliding door closes against it, and nothing is drilled into or cut from your original door or glass.
That modular design is the reason same-day fitting is possible at all. The insert is built to your track’s height and fitted as one unit, rather than your existing glass being removed, sent away, cut and refitted. It is also what makes the insert rental-friendly: because the original door and glass are untouched, the insert can be taken out again and the door returned to its original state, with no landlord NOC needed.

The same-day workflow, step by step
Step 1: WhatsApp a photo before 10 AM
Everything starts with a photograph. Before 10 AM, send us a clear photo of your sliding door on WhatsApp — the whole door, showing the track it runs in — along with your area and your pet’s breed and approximate size. From the photo we can identify the door type, flag anything non-standard, and confirm whether the same-day specification suits your opening before anyone travels.
Step 2: Track measurement
The insert stands or falls on one measurement: the height of your sliding track. We confirm the track height and the width available for the insert, because an insert that is a few millimetres out will rattle, bind or leak air. If anything in the photo raised a question, this is where it is settled, before the insert is built.
Step 3: Same-day build and fit
The white aluminium frame and clear glass insert is built with your chosen flap fitted, brought to your home and slotted into the track. The sliding door is checked closing against the insert, the flap height is checked against your pet, and the fit is adjusted so the door seals as it should. Your pet can use the flap that day.
Choosing the flap that goes in the insert
The insert is the panel; the flap inside it is chosen for your pet. Dog sizing follows fixed dimensions: Medium at 23×35 cm, Large at 28×45 cm and X-Large at 36×65 cm. Medium suits smaller dogs such as Shih Tzus and Poodles, Large suits Beagles and Pointers, and X-Large is for Labradors, Golden Retrievers, Huskies and Great Danes. For cats, the sizing rule is simple: any cat over 4 kg needs a Large flap, which includes most British Shorthairs, Ragdolls and Maine Coons. Cat flaps come as manual four-way locking models or as microchip models from SureFlap and PetSafe that open only for your cat’s microchip — the better choice where stray cats visit your garden. One honest note on glass: the same-day insert uses clear glass. If your doors are reflective or tinted and a panel ever needs to match them, a replacement glass shade cannot be guaranteed 100% identical to the original — we will always tell you that upfront rather than after the fitting.
If you are renting, this is the easy route
Tenants are often the quickest same-day customers, because the insert asks nothing of the landlord’s property. No cutting, no drilling into the original door, no landlord NOC — and when you move out, the insert comes out of the track and the door is exactly as you found it. Is the insert secure and sealed once fitted?
The insert is measured to your track height so it sits firmly, and your sliding door closes against it. The flap itself closes behind your pet — magnetic-seal dog doors from Hakuna Pets and PetSafe are fitted precisely so the flap pulls shut rather than hanging open.
I have missed 10 AM today. What happens?
Send the photo anyway. We will confirm the earliest fitting we can offer for your door and specification, and if you choose a powder-coated finish, that work runs on the 2–3 day coating timeline regardless of booking time.
