Walk into a new-build home in Aljada or Al Zahia and you will find the same arrangement in almost every living room: a wide sliding patio door, a slim track, and glass you are not allowed to cut. Sliding pet door inserts in Sharjah were made for exactly this door — a complete panel, carrying the flap, that is built to your track’s measurements and set into it, so your dog or cat gets garden access and the original door stays exactly as the developer handed it over.
A sliding door pet insert Sharjah new-builds can accept without modification has to match its track precisely — a few millimetres of error is the difference between a sealed panel and a permanent draught — which is why the fitting process below is measured at every stage.
How a sliding insert works
An insert is a narrow, full-height panel framed in aluminium with glass above and the pet flap mounted at pet height. It stands in the sliding track at one end of the opening; your existing door then closes against it instead of against the frame. Nothing is screwed into the door, nothing is cut, and the insert can be lifted out again whenever you want the full opening back.
Because it is fabricated to measure, the insert seals along the track and against the closing door, so you are not trading your pet’s freedom for a draughty gap down one side of the patio door. The flap itself closes behind your pet after every pass.
Sliding door pet insert Sharjah fittings: the weekly route from photos to fitting
Sharjah is covered by our scheduled weekly teams, so insert fittings here are planned rather than improvised — which suits a made-to-measure product. The route runs like this:
WhatsApp photos first. Send pictures of your patio door, the track and your pet. New-build sliders in Aljada and Al Zahia vary between buildings and phases, and the photos tell us the track arrangement we are building for.
Measurement on the scheduled visit. We measure the track height and width precisely, confirm the flap size for your pet, and agree the finish.
Fabrication. The insert is built to those measurements with the flap fitted.
Fitting on the next scheduled visit. The panel is set into the track, the door’s closing and locking checked, seals adjusted, and your pet introduced to its new door.
Living with an insert day to day
An insert uses part of the opening, so be clear-eyed about the trade: the walk-through width of your patio door narrows by roughly the width of the panel, and everyday life routes through the remaining space. For most households that is a non-issue — people and pets pass comfortably, and the dog uses the flap rather than asking for the door at all. On the rare occasions you need the full width — moving a sofa out to the terrace, say — the insert lifts out of the track in minutes and goes back just as quickly afterwards. You are never committed to the narrower opening; it is a panel standing in a track, not a alteration to the door.
White as standard, colour-matched on request
The standard insert is white aluminium with clear glass — the finish that matches the majority of new-build Sharjah frames. Where your Aljada or Al Zahia sliders are grey, bronze or another developer colour, the insert can be powder-coated to a custom RAL shade to match your existing aluminium. Powder-coating is a made-to-order finish and takes 2–3 days before the insert is ready to fit, which simply becomes part of the fabrication stage above.
If your patio glass is reflective or tinted, we will offer the closest matching options available for the insert’s glass — with the honest caveat that an exact shade match cannot be guaranteed 100%, as developer glass came from different suppliers and batches.

Insert or replacement panel for a new-build slider?
Choose the insert when your door slides in a track with room for the panel to stand — the common case in Aljada and Al Zahia — and especially if you rent, because it removes in minutes and touches nothing.
Choose a replacement panel when the glass you need the flap in does not slide at all: a fixed pane beside the door, or a single openable door. Then we fabricate a new tempered glass unit with the flap fitted and store your original panel. Many new-build homes use both — insert on the slider, and the cat’s microchip flap in a replacement panel elsewhere.
Sizing follows the usual measures: dog doors at Medium 23×35 cm, Large 28×45 cm and X-Large 36×65 cm, and any cat over 4 kg needs a Large flap.
Frequently asked questions
How does booking work for an insert fitting in Sharjah?
Through the weekly scheduled route: WhatsApp photos, measurement on the scheduled visit, fabrication, then fitting. It is a planned few days rather than a last-minute call, because every insert is built to your track’s exact measurements.
Can the insert match my frame colour?
Yes. White aluminium is standard; custom RAL powder-coating matched to your frames takes 2–3 days and is arranged during fabrication.
Is the door still secure with an insert in the track?
Yes — the sliding door closes and locks against the insert in the usual way, and the flap itself can be locked shut when you want your pet kept in or out. We check the door’s closing and locking as part of the fitting.
Can I take the insert with me when I move?
Yes. It lifts out of the track without leaving a mark, and if your next home has a similar sliding track it can often be refitted there — send us photos of the new door and we will confirm.
What size insert flap does my dog need?
Medium (23×35 cm) for smaller, stocky breeds, Large (28×45 cm) for mid-sized dogs such as Beagles, and X-Large (36×65 cm) for Labradors and similar big breeds. We confirm against your dog’s shoulder height from your photos before anything is made.
