Sliding glass and patio doors are the most common place for a cat door in Dubai apartments and villas, because a sliding insert avoids altering the door itself. Our sliding door pet door insert sits in the track of your sliding door, so the glass is not cut, the frame is not drilled, and the insert can come out again when you move. If your sliding door is double glazed, a new factory-tempered panel is the alternative, made with the cat door opening already in it. Either way, your cat gets in and out without you opening the patio door, and the heat stays outside.

Three things Dubai cat owners should know first

Your existing tempered glass cannot be cut. Tempered glass shatters if it is cut after it has been made. That is why we do not cut your existing panel. Instead, we make a new factory-tempered panel with the cat door opening already in it, and fit that panel in place of your existing one.

Your original glass is stored for swap-back. We keep your original glass safe, so the panel can be swapped back when you move out or if you ever want the door returned to how it was. That is what makes the job rental-friendly in practice, not just in name.

Same-day fitting is possible in Dubai. For a standard white insert, book before 10 AM and we aim to fit the same day. Book after 10 AM and the fitting is normally the next day. We will confirm your slot when you send your photo and measurements.

How it works

1. Send a photo and a few measurements. WhatsApp a photo of the door or window, plus the width and height of the opening you have in mind. Tell us whether it is glass, a sliding door, a window or a wall, and whether you rent or own.

2. Choose the cat door with us. We confirm the cat door size for your cat and whether a microchip cat door is right for you, and we confirm the panel type — a new factory-tempered glass panel, a sliding insert, or a wall fitting.

3. Your panel is made. The new panel is made with the opening already in it. Nothing is cut on site into tempered glass, and there is no drilling into your existing panel.

4. We fit it and show you how it works. On the visit we fit the panel or insert, seal it against heat and dust, store your original glass, and show you how the cat door, lock and microchip reader work before we leave.

Where we fit a cat door in Dubai

Most Dubai cat doors go into one of four places, and each one needs a different approach. Glass doors: a new factory-tempered panel replaces your existing glass panel, with the cat door already fitted — see pet doors in double-glazed glass. Sliding doors: a sliding door pet door insert sits in the track of your sliding door, so the door itself is not altered. Windows: a window cat flap works well in apartments. Walls and wooden doors: the cat door is fitted through the wall or door with a tunnel section, sealed and finished on both sides. If you rent, a glass panel or sliding insert is usually the safer route.

Sizing: regular or large, and microchip or manual

Size matters more than brand. A cat door that is too small will put your cat off using it, and a cat door that is too large lets in more heat than it needs to. As a guide, a regular cat door suits cats up to around 4.5 kg, and cats above that need a large model. If your cat is close to the boundary, or still growing, tell us — we would rather size up than fit a cat door your cat outgrows.

A microchip cat door reads your cat’s existing vet microchip and opens only for that chip. That keeps neighbourhood cats and strays out, which matters in Dubai compounds where strays are common, and it means your cat does not need to wear a collar tag. A manual cat flap is simpler and suits a home where selective entry is not a concern.
