The replacement glass panel

If the flap belongs in a fixed panel or you want the most built-in look on the main garden door, we fabricate a new tempered glass unit in the workshop with the flap opening formed before tempering, fit the flap into it, and swap it for your original panel. Your original glass comes out whole and is stored safely, ready to be swapped back in around 30 minutes when needed. Owners of golf-front villas often choose this route for the front-of-house finish it gives.

DAMAC Hills: townhouses, villas and towers

DAMAC Hills mixes detached villas and townhouses with apartment towers, and the fitting follows the home. Townhouse patio doors take the insert route exactly as villa glass does, and it is the route behind most cat flap DAMAC Hills households choose — a panel in the track, a flap sized to the cat, and nothing permanent changed. In the towers, balcony sliding doors take the same insert, sized for a cat or a small dog. Building management rules vary from tower to tower, so check yours before booking; because the original glass is retained and nothing is altered permanently, a reversible insert is the fitting most likely to keep you compliant.

Sizing for family dogs

Golf-community living means dogs with gardens to patrol, and sizing is where fittings most often disappoint. Our dog doors run Medium 23 × 35 cm, Large 28 × 45 cm and XL 36 × 65 cm. Measure your dog’s chest width and shoulder height and choose the size that clears both; if your dog falls between sizes, go up one. Cats over 4 kg are more comfortable in a Large flap rather than a standard cat size.
